Episode Thirteen: Austin Yogurt Shop Murders

Episode Thirteen: Austin Yogurt Shop Murders

Shortly before midnight on Friday, December 6 1991, a patrolling Austin police officer noticed a fire coming from the I Can't Believe It's Yogurt! shop and reported to a dispatcher. After the fire was extinguished, firefighters discovered the bodies of four teenage girls.

The initial investigation spanned eight years. Hundreds of suspects and six false written confessions were discounted. Two teenage boys controversially confessed and were convicted of the crime, but they were then released in 2009 due to lack of evidence. This cold case remains unsolved.

Was this a robbery gone wrong? Or something more sinister? Why would anyone kill four teenage girls?
